Sightseeing around Sneakers Street

Positioned right in the middle of Kowloon the Fa Yuen Sneaker Street is a great starting point for a sightseeing trip. Or if one of your party wants to browse the shoes, the other can go sightseeing.  There are many choices:


Ladies Market - If the men are buying sneakers, perhaps the women can go just two streets to the Ladies Market to browse clothes, accessories.

Apliu Street - A little further away but the more technical minded will have fun in this electronics and tools dedicated market street.


Historic Buildings

Yau Ma Tei Wholesale Fruit Market - A rare example of a more than 100 year old market building, still in use for it's original purpose.

Yaumati Theatre - The only pre-war theater building still in use.

Tin Hau Temple - Located Yee Kuk Street, Sham Shui Po this is one of the oldest temples in Hong Kong

Whitfield Barracks - Inside the Kowloon park, a British colonial era building now used as a heritage centre

Yau Ma Tei Police Station - An impressive building erected originally in 1922.



Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum - This extremely rare tomb was built in the Eastern Han dynasty (AD 25 - 220) and has now been turned into a museum.

The Hong Kong Housing Authority Exhibition Centre - A very unusual museum that explains the public house history of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong History Museum - An excellent and large museum explaining the history of Hong Kong from the Neolithic through to modern times.

Sneakers Street Hong Kong
Nowhere in Hong Kong is more famous than Sneakers Street for Sports Shoes. Check out the latest brands and styles from Nike, Converse and so on. Check out Walker Shop, Dahood, Toronto Sport and of course any kind of running or basketball shoe.

From dressy choices like Converse Wedge, or sequined trainers, through to high end Jordan shoes. There are also options here for cheap running shoes, but all brands are entirely genuine, unlike some fashion goods there are no "fakes" in Fa Yuen street when it comes to Sneakers.

Brands available include Nike, Converse, Adidas, Reebok, New Balance, Puma, K-Swiss, Merrell, Timberland and Sketchers.
